Milas - Bodrum Airport
The new international terminal of Milas – Bodrum airport was planed to be completed in Spring-Summer 2012. In 2009 the construction works has started with Turkish sub contractors and they was not able to finish the works until February 2011. All rights was overtaken by a Italian company called "Astaldi" or other name "Mondial", also well known on the Turkish industrial & construction market. This major construction company announce that the new Bodrum Airport International Terminal will be ready to serve Travelers late May 2012. And they did open it on Time.
The new international terminal is build on a area of 95000 sqm and will have 9 boarding bridges in total, one of them will be able to accept large jumbo planes catering with 2 separate gate entrances. The terminal design includes 66 check-in desks, latest high technology security systems, new Led information screens, new baggage handling systems and a parking space for around 750 cars.
According to the flight statistics the new terminal will serve over 5 million passengers from over 40 different destinations which means that this year the general traffic will increase over 35% in total. The old international terminal will be used for domestic flights.
The new Terminal is open since 17.05.2012. All International Departures and Arrivals are done from the new terminal. The old International Terminal is used for all Domestic flights inbound and outbound. Please be sure that you drive to the right terminal when you departure from Bodrum Airport.
The International Terminal will be handeld over to the Turkish Ministry of Transportation on the October 24th, 2015. With this act the Mondial group has fulfilled there contract with the Turkish Government.
